BitShare.com is a bit too suspect for our liking. We did a bit of digging around into Bitshare and we came up with quite a bit of disturbing evidence.
BitShare.com, like many file locker sites offer members incentives to upload. This means they host quite a bit of popular content such as Hollywood Movies, TV Shows, Stolen Pornography, Pirate Software and even extreme Child Pornography.
In recent times they have been making statements for public consumption such as “we will ban uploaders of porn” or “we will ban uploaders of copyright files”. However these statements are simply obfuscating the fact that they reward uploaders of illicit content every day.
Read on a “bit” (ok sorry we’ll stop that now!) to see what we found out about BitShare
BitShare have been busy hiding away their affiliate and pay per download offers on popular forum WJunction however we did some digging and found two examples of their promotions on other forums. Below are two screenshots of BitShare canvassing for people to upload and be rewarded for it.

BitShare.com offer premium accounts on either an ongoing subscription basis or for a preset period of time. They are currently selling these accounts via Paypal and through resellers who accept all kinds of payments. Below is a screenshot of their premium accounts page.

You can find any type of content you like on BitShare. It isn’t difficult to find copyright and illicit content on the site.
Below we see a number of DVD Rips of Hollywood films being shared on the BitShare file locker.
You can also download your favourite TV Series from BitShare.
If it’s porn that you’re after then BitShare has plenty of that, pages and pages of links to all the porn you could want to download.
BitShare also have copious amounts of pirate software with leading titles such as PhotoShop from Adobe.
Most disturbingly, found far too often on these file locker sites, is a large amount of potential child pornography. It’s easily searchable but we wont tell you how.
BitShare is a File Sharing site that is trying to obfuscate it’s true nature since other file lockers have lost their Paypal processing or other payment processing methods. Unfortunately it’s all a front. BitShare have plenty of pirate software, tv shows, movies, games, pornography and child exploitation material available and they sell it at a premium.
We believe BitShare should be shut down, at the very least they should lose access to Payment processing and their resellers, who are just as liable, should also lose their respective payment processing methods.

you should shut down filestube too, because this is tool to find illegal things. You should try to shut down rapidshare too, why you are only describing the smaller hostings ? and when something is illegal – you can write to bitshare, they have 48h to delete this file and in 100% cases – they remove. Therefore this is legal business.
If you think mediafire, depositfiles, and putlocker are “smaller hostings”, you need hospitalization ASAP dude.

You didn’t really blur the important parts, anyone can still see what you searched for.
Apart from that I don’t see any bitshare links in this particular screenshot.
If you really cared about children you would report the links you find directly to the filehosts so they delete the files and hand over the uploaders data to the police.

With that logic, why are you still sending out DMCA takedown requests? The contents will just “reappear the next day”. That is just about the stupidest comment I have seen here so far, and this little blog isn’t lacking in that department.
@Bonscott: They (he) have linked to at least 30 websites that may contain child pornography, while showing us the most efficient ways to do so.. I don’t think they’re going to stop now. Some of the links are even blurred in such a way that they’re still readable, making the blur more like a highlighter.

That’s why we’re not sending much of new DMCAs lately but rather concentrate on closing of sites that are not compliant with DMCA. We’re dead tired from the years of cat and mouse game where you send DMCA to only see your content reappearing again, often within hours because those sites never terminate repeat offenderd and never implement standard technical measures to prevent infringements (such as DFP or MD5) as they’re required to do as per DMCA law.
I can understand your frustration, but you need to remember that the DMCA is an American law, and the majority of file lockers, although having a DMCA policy, are not actually protected by this law and do not need to follow its guide-lines. The DMCA is clean, clear, and easy to understand, which is why we use it.
As for your contents being shared freely.. There is nothing you can do about this. You can close as many sites as you want but in the end all you’re doing is pissing off people that never respected you in the first place. Learn to live with it.
