Extabit are a serious offender when it comes to stolen content. By providing incentives to uploaders and a generous affiliate program they encourage rampant piracy. As of today Paypal have terminated processing payments for Extabit. We congratulate Paypal for this decision.

Extabit have had their Paypal relationship terminated and all funds have been frozen for 180 days.
UPDATE: 25th July 2012 ExtaBit are now using i-Koruna as a payment system, we are working to have i-Koruna removed as a payment option for Extabit.
Read on to see why ExtaBit should be avoided by any reputable payment processor.
ExtaBit offer premium accounts using Webmoney and Paypal (Paypal have now terminated processing for Extabit).

ExtaBit encouraged uploaders by posting on forums offering deals where uploaders were rewarded for uploading pirate and illegal content.

A quick search on a popular file search website reveals loads of stolen porn and site rips.

Pirate software is also freely on offer at ExtaBit.

Taking away Paypal from ExtaBit is only the first step in our efforts to shut down this site. We will now apply pressure to other processors to ensure that they cannot process payments. We will also work with authorities to ensure that the culture of content theft is halted by this rogue site.

You suck. Not everyone is rich, give people a chance to enjoy software and decide if they want to buy it or not.
F*ggots.
Being poor does not give you the right to steal.
Sanctimonious self righteous prig. Who are you to say what we should and shouldn’t download? The problem is greedy organisations charge a fortune for programmes, no wonder people download from these sites.
Get a life and a real job like most of us!
dear editor
i think you are agressive, arrogant and vile
i dont believe in stealing content-i often buy used dvd’s and books
but your methods are like….
well i wont say what they are like but use your imagination
this stupid trick will not stop piracy, i’m going to leave paypal and change payment method for file hosts.
only paypal I paid noone other payments method, all others are pirate, only paypal is secure but other no,that seems that are pirates because there are no paypal payment. all the links without paypal meyment are pirates, dont give your card number code, because you will not be able to get back more your money.
Piracy is to my knowledge not theft as you do not plan to deprive the owner of the good or service permanently. The problem with the market is sometimes it is actually easier to download content then to access it legally. Content owners need to do more on their side to reduce piracy.
The last 3 games i have purchased have been rubbish and not worth £50.00 each
maximum play time of each was about 4 hrs with 1 only lasting 15mins on my PC, is that value for money, considering one of those games was not working on release is that professional? well is it!
The last 10 albums have been decreasing in track length and tracks themselves.
The last 4 films i have watched on i love film have been complete crap.
This is a repetitive cycle, content gets weaker, less value for money, more people pirate it. you need to be looking at developers themselves not the pirate’s you dumbass do-good loser.
if you went to pizza hut and paid 20.00 for a pizza and i cooked it wrong and it was unsatisfactory, would you ask for your money back…the answer is yes, what if i didn’t give it to you..you would just walk out without paying, if developers don’t introduce some logical refund system for unsatisfied customers, then what do you expect..god some people need to smell the coffee! even a 1 day money back guarantee on games would be something, i also notice its now rare for a game to be pre released as a demo, another reason for piracy, have you even stopped to think that some people actually purchase after pirating the software/film/game this is quite often I’ve done it myself, just face it, these companies suck at offering quality for price, the only film i have seen true value in was avatar, as that was epic and worth the money, some shit hand held excuse for a grade a film is not worth the £ eat sh*t!
also i have noticed some examples of decaying piracy due to respect for developers like andrew kramer (video copilot) A VERY SPECIAL DEVELOPER!!
who gives hours of tutorials for free showing off his software, very limited piracy effects him because people respect him on a level i have not seen before, they really wont pirate from him, yes some of his software has been cracked, but millions purchased it with no complaint, his software is A+ and well regarded in the digital world USE HIM AS A ROLE MODEL!! if nothing else, that i will pay for, and thats my point if its WORTH it its purchased nuff said!!
I do not think piracy can be stopped. There are just too many sites and usenet options out there …. I am not convinced that it is stealing either, though I dont have the time to watch movies, let alone pirate them. Anyway all the best in your effort, but as I said it is a sisyphean task.
after reading this, I will definitely give money to Extabit to support them
100% agree w/u
Hey editor I just wanted to let you know that the more you fight this the worst it becomes like a terrible itch that eventually peels skin away and begins to bleed. You are only exacerbating the problem. By stopping the payment processors all these file lockers will do what they do best and that is circumvent. Have you ever heard of BitCoins?. If you haven’t let me explain it for you. It is a decentralized form of digital currency that can be sent/received anonymously through alpha numerically assigned BitCoin addresses (ac3ksl29talax2pqzkd3qpkvm). You push file lockers far enough they will move onto BitCoins, which the government nor you…Robert King can ever hope to defeat. You can transfer the funds to PayPal or other online systems like it or wire transfer it to your bank. By the way BitCoins are also used to purchase drugs, weapons, etc.. You lose Robert…you lose…
In the floowing quote replace “Creedy” with “King” and you have a masterpiece
“Beneath this mask there is more than flesh. Beneath this mask there is an idea, Mr. Creedy, and ideas are bulletproof. ” ~ V
These types of sites will always exist, so why waist time???
Anyway, there are bigger fishes out there to fry, so why extabit???
People upload movies and games to share with people that will never buy them anyway, so it is a way to promote the movies and games to people that have no way to pay for them.
Only people with money buy on-line, and many do not even ca buy online on their countries, even thought that is not a fact in most countries.
Redirect your attention to other very popular file sharing sites if you must, such as rapidshare, uploaded.net, billionuploads, 180uploads, putlockers, etc.
However, that is a pure waist of time, because many of those, like 2shared, billionuploads, 180uploads and dozens of others, do not offer premium services, and people can uploaded to their servers without paying a dime, so let’s assume you win the way and those file sharing sites with premium services are shut down, (for instance, after or by means accquired through the next big event that is uniting dozens of countries to regulate the internet; google created a website for people to vote no, and over 3 million people have already done so). users would start being creative and use offshore servers on countries that other countries/cities/nations’z laws cannot touch, like Switzerland, Hong Kong, et cetera, as they already do, for instance, rapidshare, or by other means.
You and nobody else can win in this topic. You are clearly wasting your time and you will never gain even 1 battle. If you think removing paypal or any other online payment service from extabit will make them loose their monthly income, then you are clearly misguided – truth be said.
Open your eyes, this is a big business, and if one wants to open a file sharing site, he will manage to do it, he just has to be creative and circumvent the laws.
Lyon111. I suspect you’re an Extabit sock puppet and if so your post smacks of desperation…and that makes me smile.
Why? Because Extabit not only colludes in cheating copyright owners they also cheat the thieves that post copyrighted material and expect to get paid by Extabit for doing so. Don’t believe me? Check this out:
http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1693943&page=25#post15025726
Then read the entire thread.
Extabit also refuse to process DMCA notices in an expeditious manner which should disqualify them from Safe Harbor. They refuse to block persistent offenders (and brag about not doing so) and they also have a convoluted link creation system very similar to the old Megaupload system where the actual file is never removed, only the link, in the very rare case where a copyright holder is able to get a takedown.
Their system is designed to cheat everyone from copyright holders to the uploading infringers and anyone who purchases a premium account is cheated too due their download speeds being instantly reduced to a snails pace.
Of course, Extabit still get all that ad revenue and keep it to themselves while laughing all the way to the bank. What’s that saying “there’s no honour amongst thieves?”
There’s no question stopfilelockers is hurting them though and here’s hoping they go under as a result
well i don’t like paypal either. because i’m teen and Asian. which obviously have no credit card. and all that ads. -_-.
i undersetand that you are trying to shut down such sites. that’s not bad, though i am currently using that site very often. cause what i more want is a fixed, and reasonable priced product. that is why i buy indie games, musics without looking for piracy. but seriously, some of utilites are so expensive. i just wish they have more way to buy that with less burden. not just sale sh*t. make more versions like portable, basic, beginner, pro stuffs. and then we can buy cheap one then upgrade it whenever we can afford it. then i might able to save my pocket money to buy vsti and sequencers. $700 for 10 yrs old shitty horn vsti… just mad.
