FileMates is a professional piracy outfit with a snazzy website and sales pitch to match. They provide downloads of pirate movies, software, music, pornography and pay people to upload this content. They also supply copious amounts of child exploitation material.
Don’t be fooled by the professional looking website, this is a site built on theft of copyright material and they make considerable amounts of money doing it.
UPDATE: 3rd July 2012 FileMates, who used multiple alternate Paypal accounts, have had their Paypal accounts blocked. They are still wondering why and how this could have happened. FileMates used alternate Paypal accounts to spread the risk, so that if Paypal terminated one then they would have others. This method does not work as well will track down every payment processing option a site makes available.
Below is a post from a FileMates representative puzzled at how so many of their payment options are being blocked.
FileMates sells premium memberships using Paypal, in complete violation of Paypal’s policies regarding illegal content. They encourage users to upload copyright material and then charge the people who want to download that material a hefty fee.
Clicking on a payment link takes you straight to a Paypal payment page.
In order to entice users to upload material there is an uploader and affiliate program that pays generous commissions on premium memberships. The site also pays directly for uploads of illegal content. Below is a screenshot of their offer to uploaders and affiliates.
Make no mistake about it, this is a site run by criminals. They profit from stealing copyright material and then reselling the access to download it. It’s theft on a grand scale.
However to make things much worse, they have a vast array of child pornography on offer, so FileMates is profiting from the sexual exploitation of children.
Do not attempt to download any child exploitation material from this site, it is all illegal and you could wind up in prison for doing so.
FileMates is supported by Payments processed by Paypal. We call on Paypal to immediately terminate processing for this site and we think that the authorities should be shutting the site down.
We will be working on shutting this site down and we will be contacting their upstream network providers to encourage them to cut this site off the Internet.

This is a ridiculous article with false information regarding our activities.
We are a website like RapidShare. Not like MegaUpload.
You may want to ask what is the difference. the difference is that we delete all reported content uploaded on our website which infrige copyrights.
We also delete all content and get measures against uploaders that upload child pornography.
We will not respond any more in further comments. This is just a false and maybe competitors originated article.
If you really want to help us, send us contents infriging copyrights or illegal material infriging the law in general and we will be there to help.

It’s interesting that it’s possible to find so much copyright material and illegal pornography on your site. This seems at odds with your claim that you delete infringing content. I’ll let the public and the authorities decide whether your site should be penalised or not.
If what you say is true, then the next time we do a search we wont find one single pirate movie, video, stolen pornography, pirate software or child pornography on your site.

How is this info false? I checked all urls where the screenshots came from, and they look exactly the same. You encourage illegal stuff to be uploaded to earn money from it – copyrighted stuff, illegal stuff, to get downloads and premium sales.
