More Piracy Sites lose Paypal Payment Processing

by Editor on July 23, 2012

We have compiled a brand new list of Paypal takedowns against File Locker, Image Hosting and Piracy support sites that can be announced. Effective 23rd July 2012.

We believe the following sites have had their relationships terminated by Paypal. With Paypal terminations it’s common practice for funds to be frozen for 180 days, no withdrawals or transfers of funds allowed.

The following sites lost Paypal payment processing between 18th and 23rd July 2012.

viptv.net

hostingbulk.com

freeuploading.com

friendvista.com

usstream.tv

diglo.com

sendspace.com

luckyshare.net

rghost.net

edoc.com

mediafilestorage.net

freecd-key.com

coraldrive.net

torrentbully.com

bullyhosting.com

pinafilm.com

filemates.com

imgbucks.com

bzlink.us

spicyfile.com

uploadnsell.com

sharefilehost.com

multishare.org

lafiles.com

We believe that all these sites have been terminated by Paypal in the last week. We do not believe any of them may process through Paypal again, however Paypal always deals with these matters on a case by case basis.

NOTES Copy Control does not claim responsibility for these or any other Paypal terminations. Many organisations work to deal with infringing sites. Some of these sites may have been reported earlier then re-reported as they continued to process with Paypal. This information is current at the time of publication and is subject to change.

I really laugh when i visit this page hehe,
Lets take a look at the “filehosts” that are limited on a case by case basis ;)
Oh wait, i see almost all of them using xfilesharing script, pretty sure some nulled version found on warez forums! and oh some of them even on shared hosting ;)
The sad part is the people from your industry are clueless and have no idea about these stuff, so they actually think you have limited an account like rapidshares … but i know the game, trying to show that you are doing something!
Now lets see the big lockers, are they still there? YES, do they still process payments? YES, so they are selling premiums. Do you care if its through payapl or any other payment processor ? NO because at the end of the day they are making money!

Another problem here is you just started from nowhere, like the aladdin lamp and jinni, it can’t be like this, there are some rules you can’t become a hunter in one day!

Good luck with your stuff, i hope you ask yourself those questions and instead of wasting your and your industry people’s time find a better way which is more effective and legal!

AK’s been at this for a few weeks. He has a small team which is growing, his contacts are growing, Your problem is going to start when other industries that suffer from piracy adopt his methods. Industries with deeper pockets and more resources to pressure the reason for file lockers, PROFIT

Might I piss on your bonfire for a moment?

Paypal is an American Payment system, now paypal is gone for these sites it means there is one less tie to american soil where the greedy corporate bastards are coming from.

With less ties, it means they are more immune from the american legal system. In the long run, not having paypal is a good thing for these types of sites. Although I seem that Paypal’s usage has dropped a lot lately. This seems to be hurting PP more than anyone else.

Indubitable , You are filehosting owner , Likely , netload , rapidshare or hotfile .
This was the only way to keep your site exclusive, like the past .

Luckyshare already got Webmoney and Liqpay as their payment gateway..others have moved to 2checkout..and something else.
Good try but now paypal will only receive USA’s business for being their B*tch…and not of the world. I know they can settle for that but they won’t increase and no other payment site will trust them in the future.

Editor July 24, 2012 at 7:20 am

Most Westerners don’t understand Webmoney and Liqpay is a dogs breakfast.

Please disable hotfile’s paypal payment method.
DMCA taken down notice is the only way for hotfile to delete and disable accounts that share illegal content. there are still a lot of pirated content being shared on hotfile but without a DMCA taken down notice.

Please disable Lumfile Paypal and their payment gateway !!!

Reply

zoopy July 25, 2012 at 4:51 am

@GoAfterHotifle
I think you are misunderstanding something here.
These guy have nothing to do with paypal account closures ! they just report the website, and thats all ! these guys have no authority in paypal or anything ! they just report sites and thats it. coming and saying to disable an account ?!!WTF ?

plus hotfile is too big for SFL I think. I doubt they can even touch hotfile unless hotfile itslef decides to stop working with paypal like mediafire did !

Editor,

While I don’t share your opinion that all “cyberlockers” are “bad” and should be shutdown, I do very much respect the fact that you are allowing the people with different opinions than yourself participate in this conversation on your board.
Everyone’s opinion should be respected.

My opinion is:

I do think it is possible for businesses to provide a user based hosting system like these “cyberlockers “you target. In the end, After all, in the end, they are just providing hosting services just like Softlayer or Rackspace. Like these hosting companies, they are *not* in control of what users put on their servers, just like Softlayer is not in control of what people do with a dedicated server.

Here are a few parallel situations:

Take for instance that you found some CP on a server hosted a Rackspace. Would you call up Paypal and have Rackspace account limited, or would you first lodge a complaint with Rackspace to have it removed? Probably not, because they are a service provider.

Take for instance that you found some CP being shared via a Torrent. Would you complain to VISA or request that Comcast or AT&T be banned from accepting payments? Probably not, because they are a service provider.

This is why the DMCA exists. It allows service providers to operate and provide service without the fear of being shut down for something that they have virtually no control over. It also allows service providers to concentrate on doing what they do best, provide service, and not become investigators and judges for every bit of data exchanged via their network or service.

Its a tough situation, and I do understand that people like you who own copyrights have been damaged severely. I just don’t think that it is the providers fault, but more of society’s fault in general. People these days don’t understand or respect that intellectual property is just that, **someones property**. Most kids these days feel its there god given right to steal movies, music etc just because they sit anonymously behind a computer screen. I think in the long run its more about educating people that piracy is bad and that people will not produce movies or good music if they are not properly compensated.

We think the simple difference between the examples you provided and the sites we are targeting is this: Softlayer and Rackspace do not pay you to upload content to the servers you host with them. Incentivised file sharing, pay per download, encourages piracy as up-loaders will only upload popular and highly sought after content.

Services like DropBox do not pay you per download. There is no monetary incentive to share copyright material using DropBox. However with many file lockers there is a direct incentive to upload popular, usually copyright infringing, content. We are targeting sites and services which encourage infringement and directly profit from it.

James French July 25, 2012 at 10:11 am

I do agree that “incentivised file sharing” complicates matters, and in my opinion should disqualify these hosts from the DMCA safe-harbor. You are right on target with that argument.

However, you seem to be targeting *all* cyberlockers with your site. I mean your domain name is “stopfilelockers.”

Would you not agree that their are *some* cyberlockers that provide legitimate service and do not offer “rewards” for sharing? Your site mentions Mediafire and Sendspace in a few takedowns. These two cyberlockers have never offered payouts like you describe and process DMCA requests within minutes of receipt. This is faster than most other traditional hosting companies respond.

Is it your opinion that these companies should not be in business, or make money in the hosting business? Do you think these hosts should look at every single file and determine is it is copyrighted?

Reply

Editor July 26, 2012 at 10:06 am

We will target any file locker service that engages in repeat and systemic infringement of intellectual property rights. Especially where those services run affiliate programs which aggravate the infringements.

So that does mean it is legal to share pirated contents on Dropbox? If yea that means piracy will always exist. Real deal uploader will be still uploading wether paid or not.

Close this site
You’ll never get anything! Piracy has always existed and will always exist!
Hollywood earns millions with piracy is that it makes a person decide whether or not to purchase a movie!
The only ones who do not like are the entrepreneurs of artists! (Those who have greed for money!)
Great artists of today only managed to fame because of piracy!
Reality is what is missing for you

There’re actually tons of FileHosts created by warez websites owners or uploaders.
Many filehosts have been closed in the past so more and more uplaoders don’t trust new FileHosts anymore.
It’s not so hard to create a FileHost. Don’t you see many FileHosts look like the same?
The worst part is these uploaders-and-also-cyberlocker-owners can pretend they’re just hosting providers.
When they recieved DMCA they’ll just remove the url links and keep the backup or copy on their servers so they can put them back in next few days.

Me too, thanks for that, I don’t really tour that much so my income is based on CDs and legal downloads which are really low. On just one of pirate forums a thread with my album was viewed 40k times.

Fine work!

Since the Megaupload takedown many cyberlockers have the jitters and some are even cleaning up their act., to greater or lesser extents Your efforts are well timed.

Rapidgator looks to be one of the more successful of the new breed of scumbags looking to fill the void – with the usual lure of paying thieves, oops, affilates, to upload ‘popular content’, with lip service to copyright.

Oron seems to be a haven for porn of all shades – including CP.

May they both die a painful financial and legal death.

Reply

halali July 27, 2012 at 6:49 pm

this won’t happen.
especially porn will be shared even if there will be no payment for uploaders.
there are so many boards and blogs where sharing scenes and films is more important than earning money. as long as there are ways to pay a prem. acc. for faster access this will continue.

well in the end the mainly reasons for stopfilelockers are just financial issues.
this is not for stopping sharing cp or copyright contents.

Reply

kool ade August 17, 2012 at 4:32 am

Oron is now no more.

Rapidgator lives on, for now…

It is very strange.

Visiting one of these sites today I infected with a variant of Trojan police.

I think it’s coraldrive.net but not sure. This Trojan exploits a vulnerability in Java. I will continue investigating.

usstream.tv, from its name, was apparently a USTREAM rip-off attempt, but it appeared to be shut down.

Also BullyHosting and FreeUploading.com are closed.

@Editor If one of the sites listed in the PayPal takedown lists you posted here has closed, please kindly update the respective posts. Thank you!

Because Paypal is a scam they suspend the account only from small filehsoter, but the bigger on as like hotfile.com or bitshare.com they make still business with them. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, there are approx. 100,000 complaints outstanding at PayPal. IMO Paypal is a corrupt Organization, hope the time will come and not only filehoster go done, PAYPAL TOO !
